Employment Law & Litigation
We approach every business client, no matter how small or large – whether just starting out or well established – with the same goal, prevention first. Many employers often consider employee handbooks or well-drafted policies as a luxury. However, when viewed as a necessity and given the proper attention, employers can avoid or minimize the expense and stress of litigation.
Whether complying with wage and hour law, hiring new employees, discipline and discharge, or providing advice and counsel on policies and procedures like FMLA, PFML, or earned sick leave, at FLG, we aim to not only know the law but to also understand your industry and company culture in order to provide you results. We have represented employers in all facets of employment litigation and have years of experience helping clients avoid, resolve, and defend against such claims. This begins with taking a proactive approach to counseling and training and providing our clients with practical solutions to their most difficult workplace problems.
Extensive Track Record of Success
No employer is impervious to employee claims and when a complaint does arise, our team is prepared to work tirelessly and collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcome for our clients. We have an extensive track record of successfully representing employers in claims involving discrimination and retaliation, sexual harassment, alleged wrongful termination, breach of contract, non-compete litigation, and wage and hour compliance. We appear regularly in state and federal courts, as well as before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The Impact of COVID-19
The impact of COVID-19 on employers cannot be understated. The rapid deployment of state and federal laws
brought confusion and forced employers to implement new policies with little time to plan for or adapt to the impact
of these laws. FLG quickly partnered with a local chamber of commerce to provide guidance on these legal
challenges for local businesses to help prepare them to meet their business and employee needs. These efforts
continue and we anticipate that many of the changes we saw at the beginning of COVID-19 may become long
lasting changes in one form or another. Our attorneys continue to review these legal challenges and develop policies
and guidance to keep our clients ahead of the changes.
